Taapu (transl. Island) is an 18-page comic about two young brothers - Basu and Dev - who live with their working mother in an almost empty apartment complex. They spend their summer days playing near the swings and nights watching a tv show about a shipwrecked pirate Dog surviving on an island. When a new kid comes into their complex, the brothers are thrown outside their bubble of comfort and familiarity.
Cutting between the worlds of Dog and that of Dev and Basu, Taapu tells a nostalgic tale of childhood, and isolation.
